Our school has 620 students from 6 to 16 years old. It is the public school in the second largest city in the Czech Republic. We teach foreign languages – English from grade 1 to grade 9 and Russian, Spanish and German from grade 7 to grade 9. We have three pavilions and a pool at the school. The school has a total of 57 people as paid staff.
We have experience in Erasmus projects successfully in Spanish and English. In the projects we work with students from the age of 12 to 16, being about 250 students. Projects other than language teachers also involve other projects that are related to the project’s themes. Both parents and students are very interested in participating in projects and cooperation with schools in other countries because they see it as the opportunity to know new cultures, make friends, learn new things, as well as be able to communicate in other countries languages other than mother tongues.
Families want to host foreign students and live with them. We are one of a few schools that teaches and promotes Spanish in Brno and projects are the only possibility to practice it by most of the educational community. The students of our school are motivated to work on the project on environment what is around them, protect it and save it.
